Toyota Nets $16,933 for Three Charities at the 2014 Chicago Auto Show

Thousands of Chicagoans took Toyota up on its offer to “get dirty” at the recently-completed Chicago Auto Show, courtesy of a rugged indoor TRD Pro Series ride and drive course. Spanning 12 days, the ride and drive program was instrumental in raising $16,933 for a trio of targeted charities.

This year, Toyota partnered with three esteemed charities in the company’s “Drive for A Cause” campaign. For the approximately 17,000 show attendees who fully participated in the indoor ride and drive, they had the opportunity to choose from one of the three charities – American Red Cross, AMVETS and FFA – for Toyota to make a contribution of one dollar per drive to that organization on their behalf.

Commemorating Toyota’s recent announcement of a new TRD Pro Series for its truck lineup, this 30,000-square-foot course provided show goers with a variety of dynamic obstacles. The course included a 14-foot-tall hill, a water crossing, a giant see-saw and various frame twisters, side tilts and suspension-focused challenges. The off-road capable Toyota TRD Pro Series will be available for Tundra, Tacoma and 4Runner later this year.
