CHRYSLER AND BRAUNABILITY UNVEIL WHEELCHAIR-ACCESSIBLE BRAUNABILITY CHRYSLER PACIFICA AT 2017 CHICAGO AUTO SHOW

CHICAGO (Feb. 9, 2017) - Chrysler and BraunAbility unveiled the BraunAbility Chrysler Pacifica, the industry's most spacious wheelchair-accessible vehicle, at the 2017 Chicago Auto Show Media Preview.

The BraunAbility Chrysler Pacifica draws on a partnership between Chrysler and BraunAbility spanning more than 45 years. BraunAbility founder Ralph Braun engineered a hydraulic wheelchair lift and installed it in a full-sized Dodge van, making it the world's first wheelchair accessible vehicle.

The BraunAbility Chrysler Pacifica is built on the most awarded minivan platform of 2016 and 2017 and features the industry's widest side-entry ramp, designed to maximize space and offer seamless entry and exit to the vehicle. Patent-pending AccessAbility technology creates more interior space and adds an additional element of comfort for drivers and passengers.

"Whether it's a veteran, a colleague, friend or a family member, there's a good chance we all know someone with a physical disability who needs help getting to the places and events that matter most to them," said Tim Kuniskis, head of passenger car brands, Dodge, SRT, Chrysler and FIAT, FCA - North America.

"The all-new Chrysler Pacifica is proving to be a lot of things to a lot of people, and now equipped with the BraunAbility technology, it is also the perfect tool to help our customers gain freedom to stay active in their everyday lives."

Chrysler and BraunAbility also announced a collaboration that will support the "Give a Dog a Job Program" benefitting Canine Companions for Independence, which empowers wheelchair-users by offering the trained service dogs to assist with day-to-day tasks free of charge.
