CHICAGO (February 8, 2014) – Together with Digital Megaphone, The Chicago Auto Show selected Instagram team @eprahhl as the winner of the 2014 Chicago Auto Show Vine/Instagram Challenge. The winning video depicted a variety of featured cars and models from around the auto show: http://instagram.com/p/kH3AwZs4Cr/.
As part of the Chicago Auto Show’s Social Media Preview Day, Digital Megaphone, a Chicago-based organization that connects brands with bloggers through social media challenges and interactive blogger events, deployed Social Media Preview influencers on the show floor. The influencers, in groups of three, were challenged to capture either a Vine or Instagram video that best showcased the nation’s largest auto show – in just 7-15 seconds.
“It was really difficult to choose, there was so much great content to look through” said Hope Bertram, director of marketing for Digital Megaphone.
Vine and Instagram videos were uploaded to Twitter with hashtags #FuelCAS and #DigiMegVideo. A panel of judges reviewed and selected the top three videos that most accurately and creatively showcased the 2014 Chicago Auto Show.
The winning video was showcased during the announcement and will be displayed for all to see during the public show Feb. 8-17. Beyond exposure, the grand prize winner received an overnight stay at the Hyatt Regency Chicago and tickets to Digital Megaphone’s sixth annual Social Media Masters Summit. The runner-up, @xoxoLizza, received $50 to Hyatt restaurants, on behalf of the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place, for her video: http://instagram.com/p/kH0TjCu-tN/.
