No matter what age groups show-goers represent, the Chicago Auto Show is one of the industry’s best venues to capture consumer feedback and reactions to the newest products and technologies. While all who make their way through the McCormick Place turnstiles are important, car manufacturers this year are engaging young adults by turning to the platforms most familiar to youth.
 
Toyota will be hosting several local celebrities in its exhibit during Public Days at the 2012 Chicago Auto Show. The automaker will also be accommodating sports-talk radio station 670 THE SCORE, with live, daily broadcasts planned throughout the auto show.
 
The 30 dealers who comprise the Chicagoland Toyota Dealers are offering area residents an opportunity to win a replica of the 2012 Toyota Camry Pace Car that will be gracing the track at the historic Daytona 500 later this month.
 
Toyota and Hasbro are teaming up to bring the Toyota Hybrid MONOPOLY Ride Experience to the Chicago Auto Show, February 8-19. Ford Motor Company today announced it will produce the next-generation Ford Explorer SUV at the company’s Chicago Assembly Plant beginning in the fourth quarter of this year. Ford is investing nearly $400 million in its Chicago manufacturing facilities to launch production of the new, fuel-efficient Ford Explorer. The Board of Directors of the Chicago Automobile Trade Association (CATA) has named David Sloan to succeed Jerry Cizek as president of the dealer group following Cizek’s retirement from the position he has held since 1988. The change takes place January 1, 2010.

This year’s speaker for the Chicago Auto Show/Midwest Automotive Media Association (MAMA) breakfast will be John Krafcik, president and CEO of Hyundai Motor America.
 
The Chicago Auto Show and the Chicago Automobile Trade Association chose to embrace social media outlets to generate online initiatives to reach a specific target audience.
 
Given the hardship of the economy, the Chicago Automobile Trade Association’s and the Chicago Auto Show’s goal is to provide Chicago Auto Show patrons with opportunities to obtain free or discounted tickets through various promotions.
 
This year on February 14, local media outlets including NBC 5 Chicago, WGN-TV and Telemundo Chicago will continue to host their annual Chicago Auto Show special programs with exclusive coverage from the show floor.
