2013 Ram Heavy Duty:
Big news for 2013 on the award-winning Ram 2500 and 3500 Heavy Duty pickup trucks is the debut of the standard 5.7 liter Hemi V-8 that delivers 383 horsepower and comes linked to a new six-speed automatic transmission. The 2013 Ram Truck is available in eight distinct trim levels - ST, SLT, Outdoorsman, Lone Star, Big Horn, Power Wagon, Laramie and Laramie Longhorn. There are three cab styles (regular cab, crew cab and Mega Cab), two cargo-box sizes (6 feet 4 inches and 8 feet), rear-wheel or four-wheel drive, as well as single-and dual-rear-wheel configurations. Ram Truck and Cummins have developed an enhanced 6.7L High Output Turbo Diesel inline six-cylinder engine, offering 370hp. Backing up the diesel is either an exclusive six-speed manual or six-speed automatic gearbox. Maximum Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) has increases to 9,600 pounds from 9,000 pounds on the Ram 2500, and the Ram 3500 features 22,750-lb. maximum trailer weight and up to 30,000 lb. GVWR. For the ultimate off-road capability, the Ram Power Wagon package features additional ground clearance, electric-locking front and rear differentials, 33-inch BF Goodrich off-road tires, a 4.56 axle ratio for hill climbing and a custom-built Warn 12,000-lb. winch.
