2013 MITSUBISHI LANCER EVOLUTION: As comfortable as a daily driver Monday through Friday, the 2013 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution is equally a weekend warrior at the local race track. Available in two levels, the GSR and the top-flight MR, the "Evo" is powered by an all-aluminum 2.0-liter DOHC turbocharged and intercooled four-cylinder engine that produces an impressive 291 horsepower. The Evolution GSR comes with a short-throw five-speed manual transmission, while the MR is fitted with an ultra-quick six-speed Twin-Clutch Sportronic shift transmission that includes steering wheel paddle shifters.. Standard-equipped on both models is all-wheel control and full-time all-wheel drive system, renowned for its mechanical grip on asphalt or dirt. Other available items include Brembo braking system with lightweight two-piece front brake rotors, 18-inch Enkei cast-alloy or BBS forged-alloy wheels, upgraded Bilstein shock absorbers, Eibach springs, and High-Intensity Discharge headlamps. The five passenger cabin can be outfitted with Recaro front sport bucket seats and leather seating surfaces; a gloss-black trim for the instrument panel, black sport fabric and soft touch door panels. There is 6.9 cu ft of luggage volume. Some of the upscale indulgences available include a 710-watt Rockford-Fosgate premium audio system FAST-Key electronic keyless entry and engine starting system; power glass sunroof; 40GB HDD navigation system with music server and real-time traffic; and an awesome-looking interior LED illumination package.
