2013 MERCEDES-BENZ GLK-CLASS: Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class mid-size SUV family have all received a redesign for model year 2013. There's a bolder exterior appearance that goes well with the eye-catching cabin upholstery. The lineup includes the GLK350 4Matic that comes with a 302 horsepower 3.5 liter naturally aspirated V-6 and Eco Stop/Start. If four-cylinder economy is preferred, there's the GLK250 BlueTEC 4Matic equipped with the twin-turbo diesel inline-4 that develops a solid 200hp. Both powerplants are mated to seven-speed automatic transmissions and all-wheel drive with brake and throttle intervention control. Maximum towing rating is up to 3500 pounds. The GLK is just the right size for today's family, with five-passenger seating, or up to 54.7 cubic feet of cargo room when the 60/40-split rear seatbacks are down. A number of innovative Mercedes-Benz safety features are available for the first time on the GLK, such as standard Attention assist and optional Distronic Plus with Pre-safe brake, active blind spot assist and active lane keeping system. The new electrically assisted steering also makes possible a standard Steer Control safety feature and optional Active Parking assist. Also new for 2013, Adaptive highbeam assist uses a windshield-mounted camera to control the vertical tilt of both the low- and high-beam headlights. A power liftgate is optional. To help get you there and back, the GLK offers a navigation system that features a high-resolution seven-inch display, a fast 40GB hard drive, and real-time SiriusXM Traffic updates. An iPod MP3 Media Interface puts your playlists at your fingertips. And to make backing up easier, a rear view camera is also included.
