2014 KIA FORTE: Starring in the Kia exhibit during the 105th edition of the Chicago Auto Show is the 2014 Kia Forte four-door sedan, sitting on an all-new chassis that is longer, wider and lower than the previous-generation Forte. Since the launching in 2009, the Forte is slotted between the Kia Rio sub-compact sedan and the Optima mid-size sedan. For 2014, the Forte sedan offers more of a driver-centric cabin, more performance and more premium amenities, available in both LX and EX trim levels. Standard engine in the LX is the efficient 148 horsepower 1.8 liter four cylinder that is mated to a standard six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission. The LX comes with SiriusXM satellite radio, Bluetooth wireless technology, and power heated outside mirrors. Moving up to the Forte EX, consumers receive a more powerful 2.0L four cylinder engine that increases the horses to 173 and comes linked with standard six-speed automatic. Available amenities on the EX include heated front and rear seats, power sunroof, push button start, heated steering wheel and HID headlights. The base LX manual rides on 15-inch tires, with 16-inch alloy rims optional. When ordering the top-of-the-line EX, it comes shod with sporty 17-inch alloy wheels. There is an Eco Package that adds Idle Stop & Go system, dual-zone automatic temperature control with rear seat ventilation and unique "eco" badge.
