2012 LEXUS GX 460: The capable GX 460 luxury utility vehicle transitions into the 2012 model year with minimal changes. It continues to offer seven-passenger, three-row configuration and body-on frame construction, as well as combining mid-size packaging with family-friendly comfort and the versatility for city and off-road driving. The GX 460 features a quiet cabin, and when middle and third row rear seating is down, offers up to 91.9 cu. ft. of cargo room. Of course, the GX 460 takes its model designation from its 4.6-liter V8 engine that produces 301 horsepower and 329 lb.-ft. of peak torque. It’s teamed to a six-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission with sequential shift, and enables the GX 460 to tow up to 6,500 lbs. Standard full-time four-wheel drive uses an electronically controlled transfer case and a TORSEN torque-sensing limited slip center differential that distributes power 40:60 under most driving conditions and changes the ratio as needed based on wheel slip. The standard Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System (KDSS) can help reduce maximum body-lean angle by as much as 50 percent to help enhance both on-road handling response and off-highway capability.
