2013 ACURA TL: With athletic styling, cutting-edge technology and two engine choices, the fourth-generation TL continues to be the most exciting performance luxury sedan in Acura history. Damon Schell, Acura Project Lead Designer, stated, "With the 2013 TL, we pushed for an increased level of sophistication." While at the show, check out the exterior of the '13 TL for its newest luxury cues like genuine stainless-steel trim, LED taillights and dynamic surface appearance. This year's model lineup includes the TL and TL SH-AWD (Super Handling all-wheel drive), each with enhanced aerodynamic bumpers, stylish grilles, updated lighting and turn signals. The driver-orientated cockpit seats five and the trunk offers 13 cu.ft of cargo room. Two all-aluminum V6 powertrains are offered. Both have variable valve timing. Standard on the TL is the 3.5-liter V6 that generates 280 horsepower and drives the front wheels through a six-speed automatic transmission with manual mode that can be controlled by steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters. Acura's drive-by-wire throttle system also creates a "blip" of the throttle to help match gear speeds while downshifting. Taking the TL to the next level is the TL SH-AWD model, which features a 305 horsepower, 3.7-liter V6 engine--making it the most powerful Acura sedan ever. It's available with either the automatic or six-speed manual gearbox and comes standard with Acura's Super Handling all-wheel-drive system. New for 2013, the TL has a battery management system that is designed to increase the overall service life of the battery.
