2013 BMW 6 SERIES: BMW 6 Series for 2013 continues with sleek, head-turning style and incredible performance. Exterior design language includes a sweeping hood, aft-set passenger compartment, long wheelbase and muscular profile. All versions of the 2013 BMW 640i and 650i Coupes, Grand Coupes and Convertible are on display during the 105th annual Chicago Auto Show. This is the third generation of the two-door 6 Series, with all models featuring a 2+2-cockpit that includes tailored seats for the driver, front and rear passengers. Two powerplants are offered, starting with the 315 horsepower 3.0 liter V-6, and developing an amazing 400 hp, is the 4.4L V-8 fitted with two turbochargers. Consumers have their desires of either the six-speed manual geabox or the eight speed automatic transmission, as well rear-wheel or four-wheel drive configurations. Top speed from a 6 Series model is electronically limited to 155 mph, and these luxury rides easily sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 4.8 seconds. Available new features are the BMW ConnectedDrive driver assistance systems and mobility services, rear-view camera, Surround View, Parking Assistant, BMW Night Vision with pedestrian recognition, Lane Departure Warning and Lane Change Warning systems, plus a new generation of the BMW Head-Up-Display. Unique to the Convertible is the heated, vertical glass rear window, that is retracted independently from the soft top itself, and depending on drop top or hardtop, the trunk holds between 11.0 and 13.0 cu. ft. of luggage. There is a selection of 25 exterior colors, five interior shades of leather and three different hues for the convertible top.
