2013 PORSCHE 911 CARRERA 4 and 4S: In launching four new all-wheel drive 911 Carrera 4 models, Porsche has doubled the configurations of that 911 series. The 911 Carrera 4 is easy to recognize from the two-wheel drive 911 Carrera. Most notable is the flared rear wheel arches that extend an additional 1.7-inches to each side, while the rear wheels are each wider. Drawing attention to the aggressively styled rear is the panel directly below the spoiler's edge that connects the left and right taillights for a distinct nighttime presence. Additional styling cues are black recessed sill panels in side view and a modified nose with unique front air inlets. The 2013 911 Carrera 4 lineup includes the coupe, cabriolet, and the Carrera 4S coupe and 4S cabriolet. A 350 horsepower 3.4-liter boxer engine propels the Carrera 4, while the 4S packages contain a 3.8L boxer engine that produces 400hp. Both Carrera 4 and 4S can be ordered with a sevens-speed manual gearbox, or the optional seven-speed Porsche Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (PDK) featuring both manual and automatic modes. Despite increased power and torque across the range, all four models consume significantly less fuel than their respective predecessors. Depending on the set-up, the 911 Carrera 4 and 4S can streak to 0-60 miles per hour in 3.9-seconds and reach a maximum top speed of 184 mph.
