2013 MINI COOPER ROADSTER: Soak up the sun (and moon) in the 2013 Mini Cooper Roadster, which is on display at the 105th annual Chicago Auto Show. As all '13 Mini Coopers, the two-seat soft-top Roadster is devilishly fast, containing the soul of a sports car and heart of a Mini. For '13, the Roadster is available in Cooper, Cooper S and John Cooper Works, as well as Premium, Sport, Cold Weather and Technology packages. Each variant offers a bulldog stance, rigid body structure, rip-roaring ride, fuel-sipping engine and unlimited headroom that's more fun than one person can handle. Hence the two passenger cockpit. Standard equipment for this model year includes semi-automatic roof and rear wind deflector, as well as Bluetooth. Three of the most-popular options add dual-pane panoramic sunroof, automatic wipers and automatic climate control. There are three variations of the 1.6 liter four-cylinder engines offered, starting with the 121 horsepower edition, then, moving up to the middle level that adds a turbo and packs 181hp.Or, tear up the pavement with the John Cooper Works edition, which is fitted with a well-tuned 208hp 1.6L turbo and matched to a six-speed manual Getrag gearbox. That setup clocks 0-to-60 mph in six-seconds, while achieving up to 35 mpg on highways. Factory-issued accessories include handpick tuning kits, chassis upgrades, exterior parts, and cockpit elements to create your own race-inspired demon.
