2013 SUBARU LEGACY: While in the Subaru exhibit during the 105th annual Chicago Auto Show, take a good look at the redesigned 2013 Legacy midsize four-door sedan. You'll notice the sportier front styling with new headlights, grille and front bumper. The '13 Legacy receives a revised suspension for smoother, quieter ride with enhanced agility. Available driver-assist systems include pre-collision braking, lane departure and sway warning, as well as a system capable of pedestrian detection. For model year 2013, the five-passenger Legacy lineup includes the Legacy 2.5i, 2.5i Premium, 2.5i Limited, 3.6R, 3.6R Premium and 3.6R Limited trim levels. Gone from last year is the 2.5GT model. This is the fifth-generation Legacy, providing buyers a choice of three engines and three transmissions. The normally aspirated 2.5-liter four-cylinder creates 170 horsepower, while the 3.6L six-cylinder in the 3.6R models generating 256hp. Depending on setups, powerplants come linked to a six-speed manual gearbox, five-speed automatic or the continuously variable transmission (CVT). As are all 2012 Subaru models, every Legacy is equipped as standard with Symmetrical all-wheel drive, which sets it apart among competitors. Tastefully five-passenger cabin feature a standard Bluetooth hands-free phone connectivity and audio streaming, and a Harman/Kardon audio system is now available, as is the best-in-class 14.7 cu. ft. trunk.
