2013 BMW X3: Big news around the BMW exhibit at the 105th Chicago Auto Show is a new turbocharged four-cylinder engine has replaced the previous naturally aspirated inline six-cylinder in the X3 xDrive28i crossover SUV. For 2013, the xDrive 28i is equipped with a 2.0 liter turbocharged four-cylinder that creates a lively 240 horsepower. The top-tier xDrive35i comes outfitted with the 3.0-liter, all-aluminum, turbocharged six with 300hp. Both powerplants are mated to satin smooth eight-speed automatic transmissions. That setup allows the X3 to sprint from 0-to-60 mph in 5.5 seconds. Maximum towing capacity is rated at 3000 pounds. BMW xDrive intelligent all-wheel drive is standard, reengineered to be even more flexibility and quicker responding then predecessors. Every 2013 X3 comes with a standard power liftgate, and when rear seat are lowered in the five-passenger interior, there is a class leading 63.6 cu. ft. of cargo room. Also standard on all X3 levels is brake energy regeneration, BMW Assist, iPod/USB adaptor and an anti-theft alarm system. Available upgrades add such items as a lane-departure warning system, panorama moonroof, navigation system, 40/20/40 rear seats, front and rear parking sensors, rear- and top-view parking cameras, 16-speaker surround-sound audio and 19-inch Double-Spoke wheels.
