2013 GMC SIERRA: Words that best define the 2013 GMC Sierra 1500 full-size truck lineup are, diverse, powerful and efficient. New this model year are two fresh exterior colors: Sonoma Red metallic and Heritage Blue metallic. Also, powertrain grade braking in normal transmission mode is standard. Three cab styles exist- regular (2/3-passenger), extended (5/6) and crew cab (5/6). Plus, buyers can choose from three cargo box lengths. The short bed is 5 foot 8 inches; the standard is 6 ft. 6 in. and the long bed is 8 ft. Five Vortec engines range from the 4.3liter V-6 with 195 horsepower, up to the mighty 6.2L V8 that produces 403 hp and 417 lb. ft of torque. A GM 6.0L V-8 and electric motors generates 332 hp in the Sierra Hybrid. It delivers a 33-percent improvement in overall fuel economy when compared with non-hybrid models and a 6,100-pound trailering capacity. Depending on powerplant, a four- or six-speed automatic, or continuously variable transmission (CVT) is available. The Sierra's payload ratings are between 1512-1980 pounds, and towing capacities vary from 6900-10,700 lb.
