2012 LINCOLN NAVIGATOR: For the 2012 model year, the Lincoln Navigator continues the tradition of excellence that sets it apart from other full-size luxury SUVs. Power comes from a 5.4-liter SOHC V8 engine that produces 310 horsepower and 365 lb.-ft. of torque on regular gasoline, and is linked to a smooth and precise six-speed automatic transmission. Two new items for the 2012 Navigator are Lincoln SYNC AppLink, a software application that gives Lincoln SYNC users hands-free voice control of select smartphone apps, and new integrated spotter mirrors to help drivers see vehicles in their blind spot. Navigator’s premium-size interior offers seven- and eight-passenger seating arrangements, as well as 103.3 cu. ft. behind the first row, 54.4 cu. ft. behind the second row and 18.1 cu ft behind the third row along with an under-floor cargo compartment for stowing various items. Also offered on the Navigator are Forward Sensing System and Reverse Sensing System, each designed to help warn drivers of certain objects within a defined range of the vehicle. Rain-sensing wipers automatically detect moisture on the windshield and activate the wipers to help increase driver visibility.
