2013 FORD EXPEDITION: With the 2013 Expedition, Ford offers a do-it-all full-size SUV with a standard 310 horsepower 5.4 liter V-8 and best-in-class towing of up to 9,200 pounds. The engine is teamed with a six-speed automatic transmission using a wider gear ratio, and power is transferred to rear- or four-wheel drive. Built in Kentucky, the Expedition is offered in four trim levels: XL, XLT, Limited and King Ranch. An extended length (EL) version of each is also available. Large interior can carry seven-or eight passengers, and when middle and third row seating are folded down, a spacious 130.8 cu. ft. of storage. The rear Cargo Organizer in Expedition EL models features a panel divider that splits the space in whichever direction the cargo necessitates. Expedition also offers an available power liftgate for easier loading and unloading, a capless fuel-filling system, keyless entry and programmable MyKey system that limits top speed and audio volume control (think teenage drivers). New and notable features are factory-installed dual-head restraint DVD for rear passenger entertainment, an integrated trail brake controller, and internal shift control module. Among new metallic colors are Blue Jeans, Kodiac Brown and Ruby Red tinted clearcoat. Plus, unique 20-inch chrome-clad aluminum wheels are optional as is a chrome roof rack and side mirrors. Expedition brings exciting voice-activated technologies to help keep the driver's eyes on the road and hands on the wheel, including AppLink, HD radio, text-to-voice capability and voice-activated navigation system.
