2014 LEXUS IS SPORT SEDAN: Appearing for the first time at a Chicago Auto Show is the completely redesigned 2014 Lexus IS Sport Sedan. Since its debut in 1999, the IS has provided an entry point into the Lexus brand for performance-oriented customers. That mission continues to greater heights by the dynamic shape and engineering in the 2014 IS lineup. The exterior and interior have been enhanced by a stretched wheelbase. Visually, the body features a strong horizontal beltline, wide flare of the wheel arches, Lexus' spindle grille and articulated headlamp cluster with L-shaped daytime running lights. For 2014, the Lexus IS will be available in rear-and all-wheel drive versions of the IS 250 and IS350. Both models come fitted with V-6 engines. A 204 horsepower 2.5 liter is on the IS 250, while the IS 350 produces 306hp from the stock 3.5L. For the first time, all IS engines are mated to Lexus-engineered eight-speed automatic transmission and a drive select system with switchable driving modes - Eco, Normal, Sport and Sport S+. These four levels optimize vehicle systems best combination of fuel, economy, comfort, performance and handling characteristics. Within the elegant five-passenger cabin is Lexus display audio or remote touch-controlled navigation multimedia systems, and the IS becomes the first model to offer a subscription-free, real-time traffic and weather information on its integrated audio system.
