2013 ACURA RDX: Acura selected the 2012 Chicago Auto Show (CAS) to debut the new 2013 RDX and up the ante in the five-passenger crossover SUV market. Returning for a second visit to the 2013 CAS, the latest edition marks the beginning of the second generation RDX, which evolved from a sporty compact SUV to a more formal SUV. For 2013 the Acura RDX boasts a sleek and more aerodynamic body, new engine, transmission and available in front-wheel or all-wheel drive variants. Gone is the turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder used with the previous RDX. In its place is a 3.5L V-6 engine that produces 273 horsepower, which is 33 more than the outgoing model. For even higher performance and improved fuel economy, the RDX makes use of an all-new six-speed automatic transmission with a new lock-up torque converter. The fresh body design offers larger door openings, larger five passenger cabin, 31.5 cu.ft. of cargo volume and an available power rear tailgate. New technologies include Pandora internet radio interface, keyless access with pushbutton start, three view rear camera, satellite communication and navigation systems.
