2013 DODGE DURANGO: It was two model years ago that Dodge reintroduced the Durango seven-passenger SUV, and for 2013, Dodge Durango can be ordered in SXT, Crew, R/T or Citadel trim levels. Based on the Jeep Grand Cherokee, and with the flexibility of a three-row SUV, Durango offers two available full-time all-wheel-drive systems (V-6 and V-8 versions). A six-speed automatic transmission that premiered in 2012, is stock on the 5.7 liter Hemi V-8 equipped Durangos. That engine delivers 360 horsepower and enough torque to provide a towing capacity of 7,400 pounds. Also available is a 3.6L Pentastar V-6 with 290hp (295 horsepower with Rallye Appearance package) that is rated at a 6,200 lbs towing capacity. It comes mated to a five-speed automatic transmission. Second-row captain's chairs are offered for the Durango, as well as nappa leather with ventilated front seats on R/T models. Actually, Durango offers 28 seating configurations, more than 30 storage areas and a rear payload area of nearly 85 cubic feet that fits a six-foot couch with room for a coffee table. Obtainable technology on the 2013 Durango R/T and top-of-the-level Citadel is blindspot/rear cross path detection, as well as features such as Uconnect Web and rear-seat DVD entertainment system. There are eight exterior paint colors to select from including two new shades, Deep Cherry Red and Bright White. Dodge Durango is built at the Jefferson North Assembly Plant in Detroit.
