2013 MERCEDES-BENZ SL: Lighter and more rigid, with a sophisticated all-aluminum bodyshell, the 2013 Mercedes-Benz SL takes the meaning of the famous letters "SL" - super lightweight - quite literally. Weight reduction across the board is one of the most outstanding design characteristics of the new SL, and continues a tradition that began 60 years ago. Trim levels for 2013 include SL550 and SL63 AMG, both two-passenger, rear-wheel drive convertibles. The SL550 features a 5.5-liter V8 that creates a healthy 382 horsepower and 391 lb. ft. of torque. For more thrills, the SL63 AMG packs a 6.2L V8 that cranks-out 518hp and 465 lb. ft. of torque. Standard and only transmission for either engine is a fuel-saving seven-speed automatic gearbox. All 2013 SL models come standard with Active Body Control, and available panoramic glass panel for the folding hardtop.
