NISSAN PATHFINDER CONCEPT: Appearing at the 2012 Chicago Auto Show is the Pathfinder Concept, which gives an early peak at the 2013 Nissan Pathfinder, on sale in the United States in fall 2012. The Pathfinder concept presents a total re-imaging of Nissan’s iconic SUV, with dramatic new exterior styling and all-new three-row, seven passenger interior, featuring an array of innovative entertainment and convenience features. The new look is adventure-ready with wheel-oriented muscular fenders, a strong, stable stance, front and rear spoilers, rear tire deflectors and rear suspension fairings to help achieve among the best aerodynamic performance in the segment. Other exterior details include a wide chrome grille, large aerodynamic headlights and panoramic dual-panel moonroof. This will become the fourth-generation Pathfinder, and is expected to deliver a 25-percent increase in fuel economy, along with ample towing and cargo carrying flexibility. The Nissan Pathfinder was originally introduced as a 1986 model, with major redesigns in 1996, 2005 and now 2013. Throughout its 27-year history it has remained one of Nissan’s most popular and most recognized nameplates, with more than 1.2 million Pathfinders sold in the U.S. alone.
