2013 TOYOTA FJ CRUISER: It was eight years ago that Toyota debut the all-new 2007 FJ Cruiser sport utility vehicle at the 2005 Chicago Auto Show. Inspired by the legendary FJ 40 models from the 1960s into the 1980s, the FJ continues into 2013 with subtle updates, considerable off-road capability, standard locking rear differential, and comfortable Toyota everyday usability and reliability. Based on a modified Toyota 4Runner platform, the FJ Cruiser is available in rear-wheel or four-wheel configurations. The 4x4 offers a choice between a six-speed manual transmission and an electronically shifted five-speed automatic transmission, while the 4x2 model is equipped exclusively with the five-speed automatic. A powerful, responsive V-6 produces 260 horsepower, and a 5,000 pound maximum tow rating. All powertrain setups enable FJ Cruiser models to provide a broad torque curve that facilitates easy cruising on-or off-road. The FJ Cruiser's side access doors open 90 degrees in clamshell fashion for easy rear-seat entry/exit. The rear seatback is split 60/40, with folding (removable) bottom and back cushions that convert to a nearly flat cargo floor, providing 66.8 cu. ft. of cargo room. For off-road fans and growing families, the FJ Cruiser's five-passenger cabin uses floor surfaces covered with an easy-to-clean rubber-like material. Music versatility adds USB Port, iPod connectivity and XM satellite radio capability. Eight exterior colors are offered including, Magna Orange, Iceberg White, Army Green and Cavalry Blue. A new Trail Teams Special Edition Package incorporates a standard off-road package and an exclusive body paint color, "Cement Grey."
