02/17/2012 - Belvidere Day at the Chicago Auto Show

Mayor Fred Brereton and dignitaries from the city of Belvidere, Illinois declared Friday, February 17th Belvidere Day at the 2012 Chicago Auto Show. The crowd stopped to pose by the 2013 Dodge Dart which will begin production at Chrysler's Belvidere Assembly plant this spring. Dart production will bring 1,800 new jobs to the area.

02/17/2012 - Preckwinkle Launches “Commit to Cook” Campaign at 2012 Auto Show

Sets goal of 2,500 new jobs, website highlights County’s ‘economic toolkit.’ Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle was joined by Orland Park Mayor Dan McLaughlin and representative of the Chicago Auto Show today to launch “Commit to Cook” campaign encouraging residents to support Cook County businesses while engaging the business community to spur economic development.

02/15/2012 - Donate and get a Discount at the Chicago Auto Show

Today, February 15 through Friday, February 17, patrons of the Chicago Auto Show can bring 3 non-perishable food items to the Chicago Auto Show to receive a coupon for $7 admission. All food will be donated to A Safe Haven, which restores lives from homelessness to self-sufficiency with pride and purpose. Every year, the Chicago Auto Show Food Drive raises over 10 tons of food.

In front of a crowd of auto show goers in the Chrysler Group display of the 2012 Chicago Auto Show, Gill Klinger proposed to his girlfriend Jennifer Stevens. A Libertyville Auto City employee, Jennifer sells Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge products in metro-Chicago and is well known throughout the dealer group in northern Illinois. Popping the question next to a Chrysler 300 at the auto show was a fitting beginning for the couple who plan to wed at Walt Disney World later this year.

02/09/2012 - All new Acura 2013 RDX and ILX Debut at the Chicago Auto Show

Following up on its blockbuster appearance at this year’s Detroit auto show, Acura today unveiled production versions of two new vehicles at the Chicago Auto Show. A completely redesigned 2013 Acura RDX crossover sport utility vehicle and the all-new 2013 Acura ILX luxury compact sedan were shown. Both new Acura models are scheduled for launch in the Spring.

At the Chicago Auto Show today, Toyota announced the return of its “100 Cars for Good” program. For the second straight year, Toyota will award 100 vehicles over the course of 100 days to 100 U.S. nonprofits, with winners selected through public voting on the Toyota Facebook page. Applications for the program will open on March 12, 2012 at http://www.facebook.com/toyota.

Utilizing nearly 30 percent more space than last year’s show, Scion is using its additional real estate to erect an expansive product and media theater, dubbed “Thunderdome.” Gone is the Matchbox-style vehicle showcase, which was a mainstay on the major auto show circuit for nearly five years.
