01/31/2012 - Toyota To Feature Technology, Safety Innovations at 2012 Chicago Auto Show

Toyota will be providing Chicagoans with a glimpse of the future at this year’s Chicago Auto Show, courtesy of the Prius “family,” a number of environmentally-conscious concept vehicles and a pair of interactive safety displays.

01/30/2012 - Scion Bringing "Thunderdome" Experience to Chicago Auto Show

Scion, the youth brand of Toyota, will be bringing the “thunder” to the 2012 Chicago Auto Show. Utilizing nearly 30 percent more space than last year’s show, Scion is using its additional real estate to erect an expansive product and media theater, dubbed “Thunderdome.” Gone is the Matchbox-style vehicle showcase, which was a mainstay on the major auto show circuit for nearly five years.

01/29/2012 - Power-Packed Lexus Exhibit Bound for 2012 Chicago Auto Show

In line with its new brand attitude, Lexus is looking to make a ‘super’ impression on Chicagoans at this year’s 2012 Chicago Auto Show. For the first time, at any auto show, Lexus will be displaying four of its renowned LFA super cars. Packing 552 horsepower in a V10 engine, the LFA is considered one of the world’s greatest performance vehicles.

01/29/2012 - 2012 First Look for Charity - DNR

The Chicago Auto Show’s First Look for Charity returns to McCormick Place on Thursday, February 9 from 6:30 – 10:30 p.m. The black-tie gala has generated more than $32 million for charities since its inception in 1992. This year, 18 significant Chicago area charities will benefit from the $2 million expected to be raised.

"After a 'traditional' first day of media preview in 2011," said show Chairman Steve Foley, "we fashioned a second day as an experiment to include social media in mixture with the regular motor press corps. The results were positive enough that we've decided to come back in 2012 with a second helping of that formula-but then extending it for the remainder of the show's 10-day public run."

Nearly 11 months after the doors closed on the 2011 Chicago Auto Show, it's still winning awards. NBC 5 Chicago was presented with the Emmy for "Outstanding Achievement for Special Event Coverage Live" for its program covering the 2011 Chicago Auto Show.
