LEXUS LISTENING LOUNGE BRINGS RIVETING PERFORMANCES BY CHICAGO NATIVES & FAVORITES TO THE CHICAGO AUTO SHOW

Special Edition of Lexus Verses and Flow Will Feature Carl Thomas, Todd Kessler and More

(CHICAGO) Feb. 12, 2014 – Leading luxury automotive brand Lexus announced a special edition of its hit R&B/Soul music property, Verses and Flow, at the Chicago Auto Show in the Lexus Listening Lounge Saturday, Feb. 14 through Sunday, Feb. 22. Auto show attendees will have the opportunity to view the recently introduced GS F performance sedan as well as the full luxury line-up offered by Lexus, and be treated to amazing live performances and meet and greets with top talent. The featured performers all have strong connections to the Chicago area and include: Carl Thomas, Todd Kessler, Julia Huff and The Company Band, The Moe Fitz Project, Nola Ade’ and Angie Fisher.

Lexus Verses and Flow capitalizes on the resurgence of spoken word and is known for pairing dynamic performances by prominent R&B artists with the luxury experience synonymous with Lexus. The show was nominated for a 2013 NAACP Image Award for “Outstanding Variety Series or Special,” after the success of the broadcast program on TV One, and eventually grew to include a live, national music tour.

Carl Thomas

Carl Thomas began his successful singing career in Chicago and received his ‘big break’ when a performance attended by Sean “Diddy” Combs in New York led to a recording contract with Bad Boy Records in 1997. His debut album “Emotional,” delivered instant classics like “I Wish,” and the album’s title track. Thomas remains a unique and sought after voice on the R&B scene with over four million records sold, two Grammy nominations and numerous other honors.

Todd Kessler

Northbrook, Ill. native Todd Kessler has been singing and performing for most of his life. His singing talent was introduced to millions when he was selected as a member of “Team Cee-lo” on season three of NBC’s popular singing competition “The Voice.”

Julia Huff & The Company Band

Performance: 7-7:30 P.M. & Meet & Greet 7:45 – 8:15 P.M.

Singing began for Chicago-born Julia Huff when she belted out The Carpenters’ “We’ve Only Just Begun” at her kindergarten graduation. Huff has been steadily and faithfully working what’s left of the fabled Chicago nightclub circuit three to four nights a week gigging the old fashioned way with her group Julia Huff & The Company Band. With music produced, arranged and largely composed by the legendary Jerry Peters (Phyllis Hyman, Earth Wind & Fire), her debut album “Meet…Julia Huff” will introduce listeners to a five-star talent as comfortable with cabaret jazz as she is with high gloss soul-pop.

The Moe Fitz Project

Maurice “Moe Fitz” Fitzgerald began his love affair with the bass at a very young age, learning to play from his Uncle. Since then, he has collaborated and performed globally with gospel, pop and R&B legends such as Beyoncé Knowles, CeCe Winans, Jennifer Hudson and R. Kelly. Fitzgerald has performed on Grammy winning albums with The Clark Sisters and is currently the bassist for the legendary Isley Brothers.

Angie Fisher

Active as a performer since her early teenage years, Angela Fisher -- who has also gone by Angie Fisher – is a Grammy nominated performer who has toured and recorded as a background vocalist for dozens of artists. Among the higher-profile artists Fisher has assisted are: Michael Jackson, Chaka Khan, Mary J. Blige, Andrea Bocelli, Michael Bublé, and Rod Stewart.

Nola Ade’

Nola Ade' has been described as a full-bodied vocalist whose phrasing is Ella Fitzgerald, soulful timbre is Jazmine Sullivan, and eclectic style is all her own. When the Chicago native's legal studies moved her to New York, Ade' performed around the Big Apple, and the buzz about her voice eventually earned her opening slots for artists like Bilal and Avery*Sunshine. Now a freshly minted entertainment lawyer, Nola Adé is preparing for the exciting indie debut of “The Love Dance EP,” set to release this spring.
