Lexus LC 500 Thunders into the Windy City
When the world first saw the all-new Lexus LC 500 in January, it instantly became one of the hottest "must see" cars on the auto show circuit. The euphoria over the luxury coupe is coming to the Chicago Auto Show as the LC 500 takes the center turntable in Lexus' exhibit at McCormick Place.
The alluring, expressively designed LC 500 represents a new era for the Lexus brand and becomes the prism through which to view the luxury brand going forward. The vehicle is the first Lexus to use an all-new, premium rear-wheel-drive luxury architecture that promises enhanced dynamic capability and performance unlike any Lexus vehicle that has come before it. When it goes on sale in 2017, the LC 500 will be one of the brand's flagship products.
Powered by the 5.0-liter V8 engine found in the RC F and GS F, the LC 500 features a newly developed 10-speed automatic transmission-the first ever in a luxury automobile. The coupe's luxury interior was designed to both excite the driver and make the act of driving as pleasurable as possible. The exterior design carries forward the dynamic language that is targeting the next generation of luxury customers.
In front of the LC 500 in the Lexus exhibit is the "F" brand stable of performance cars - RC F and the all-new GS F - along with F Sport models of the RC and IS. The hallmark of the Performance Zone is the customized RC F featured at the 2015 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show. This RC F upgrade by Gordon Ting/Beyond Marketing has a custom Evasive Motorsports six point roll cage and rear cover panels, MV Design body work and 3M gloss Burnt Orange wrap.
The all-new 2016 RX also makes its first appearance at the Chicago Auto Show along with the prestigious LS sedan and LX luxury utility vehicle.
The Lexus Listening Lounge returns to the Chicago Auto Show with a roster of live R&B music performances from the "Lexus Verses and Flow" series that once again makes a tour stop.
