Kia Debuts 2014 Forte 5-Door at the 2013 Chicago Auto Show

Kia introduced the 2014 Forte 5-Door, one of the trio of models unveiled by Kia at the 2013 Chicago Auto Show Media Preview. Also introduced was an all-new 1.6-liter gasoline direct-injected turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 201 hp and 195 lb.-ft. of torque, making the new Forte 5-door SX is the most powerful Forte from Kia to-date.

"The combination of a useful hatchback for carrying cargo and the sportiness of the turbocharged SX trim make the all-new Forte 5-door a dual threat in the segment," said Michael Sprague, executive vice president, marketing and communications at Kia Motors America.

The 2014 Forte 5-door will come in two trim levels, EX and SX, and will be available with two engine choices. The base EX model offers standard features and technology with 16-inch alloy wheels, UVO eServices with rear camera display, wireless technology, integrated audio and cruise control buttons tilt and telescoping steering column, power windows, and LED positioning headlights with fog lights. It will be available only with a six-speed automatic transmission. SX models will come with 18-inch alloy wheels, dual exhaust tips and LED taillights.

Beyond the base EX and advanced SX models, the Forte 5-door will offer a menu of options - including HID headlights, navigation system, moonroof, heated seats and steering wheel and leather seats - traditionally not found in the compact segment. The new hatchback is set to go on sale this summer.
