    Very streamlined for 1929, the Auburn Model 120 Cabin Speedster wore an aluminum body, and was propeled by a 120 horsepower, Lycoming straight eight-cylinder engine. The two passenger cockpit featured aircraft-type wicker seats, and was advertised that it could reach 100 miles per hour.

    Buick celebrated its silver anniversary in 1929, and exhibited some of the 19 different models available that year. These included touring cars, roadsters, sedans, coupes, broughams and a limousine. A new triumph for Buick was it’s Valve-in-Head six-cylinder engine, promoted to produce more power than any other engine of equal size with minimum fuel consumption.

    DeSoto, a new mid-level price range of cars from the Chrysler Motor Co., goes on sale in 1929. In the foreground is a Model K Roadster with rumble seat for $845. The exhibit also contains a highly polished cutaway chassis and example of DeSoto’s 55 horsepower, 174.9 cubic inch six-cylinder engine.
