Auto Show! As Governor of Illinois,
I applaud the Chicago Automobile
Trade Association and its partners
for showcasing the next generation
of innovative vehicles. Each year,
the auto show impresses thousands
of attendees and proves why it is an
important event for Chicago and the
State of Illinois.
The Chicago Auto Show has a
rich history dating back to 1901. At
that time, the Chicago Auto Show
was the first opportunity for many
Illinoisans to see an automobile.
Currently, it is the largest auto show
in North America and has been
held more times than any other
exposition on the continent.
Now, we buy cars, trucks, SUVs,
and hybrid vehicles built right
here in the Land of Lincoln. The
hardworking men and women in
the Illinois automotive industry,
laboring in cities like Chicago,
and Belvidere are the front lines of
American ingenuity and innovation.
On behalf of the people of Illinois,
I offer you my best wishes for an

Chicago Auto Show.
First held in 1901, the Chicago
Auto Show has become one of the
most popular auto shows in the
United States. To date, it remains
the largest automobile exhibit of
its kind in North America, bringing
thousands of people to our city each
winter. A long-standing Chicagoland
favorite, the Chicago Auto Show
provides exciting recreational
programming for all ages, accented
by unique events and informational
sessions for residents and tourists
alike.
I am proud of the enduring legacy
and success of the Chicago Auto
Show. For more than a century, it
has featured a comprehensive and
impressive display of domestic
and international passenger cars,
trucks, sport utility vehicles, and
environmentally friendly automobiles
that give all patrons the chance to
learn of trendsetting and innovative
additions to the auto industry.
I hope that those visiting our great
city take time to experience some
of the special places in Chicago.
Our iconic skyline and incredible
lakefront invite you to explore all
Chicago has to offer. I hope you have
a chance to sample our distinguished
restaurants, tour our great
universities, visit our world-class
museums, and take in our historic
neighborhoods during your stay.

As Illinois Secretary of State, it
gives me great pleasure to welcome

This year marks the 108th edition
of the Chicago Auto Show, the
nation’s largest and longest running
automotive convention. With
more than 1 million square feet
of exhibit space, this show gives
car enthusiasts the opportunity to
explore the latest developments and
innovations in the auto industry.
Each year brings more
technological advances, inventions
and exciting new models to the
public. Attendees will have the
opportunity to learn about the
newest creations in automotive
engineering and technology, and
experience the excitement of many
new hands-on displays available for
the first time.
The Secretary of State’s Public
Services Booth is also available at
the Auto Show this year. Our on-
site staff will help patrons apply
for vanity or personalized license
plates, process title applications and
disability parking placards, renew
your driver’s license or purchase
license plate renewal stickers. In
addition, staff can answer your
questions about the many programs
and services provided by our office.
