First Look for Charity - Car Giveaway

One highlight of the First Look for Charity is the car giveaway[1]. Over the years, lucky winners have driven off with the keys to more than 20 vehicles, including a Chevrolet Corvette and Dodge Viper. Anyone who has purchased a ticket is eligible to win. 2012 Cadillac SRXHowever, the winner must be present at the time of the drawing. This year, two vehicles will be raffled off, a 2012 Cadillac SRX and a 2012 Cadillac Escalade. The SRX is compliments of Your Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana Cadillac Dealers and the Escalade is compliments of Cadillac.

2012 Cadillac SRX

The SRX is Cadillac's "smaller" crossover SUV. It seats five and has the option of either front- or all-wheel drive. Competitors include the Acura RDX, BMW X5, Infiniti FX, Lexus RX, Mercedes-Benz GLK and Volvo XC60. SRX levels include Base, Luxury, Performance, and Premium. All models have 300-horsepower 3.6-liter V6 engine that can either run on gasoline or E85 ethanol-blended fuel paired with a 6-speed transmission. Maximum capacity for towing is 3,500 pounds.

The available safety features include traction control, antiskid system, ABS, curtain-side airbags, and front-side airbags. Other features include front- and rear-obstacle detection, keyless access/engine start, remote start engine, leather upholstery, heated front seats, a rearview camera, driver seat-memory, sunroof, and wireless cell-phone link. The Premium comes standard with ventilated front seats and heated rear seats. On the all-wheel drive Performance and Premium an electronically controlled sport suspension comes standard.

2012 Cadillac Escalade 12012 Cadillac Escalade

The Cadillac Escalade is a premium-large SUV. It comes as a conventional model and a gas/electric hybrid. Three bodystyles are offered: short- and long-wheelbase (ESV) five-door wagons and an EXT model that exchanges the wagon back for a pickup bed.  The EXT has a unique "midgate" which separates the cab from the cargo bed and can be folded down to increase cargo space.

The trim levels for the non-hybrid Escalades are Base, Luxury, and Premium. Top-end Platinum trim is offered in the standard-wheelbase wagons, hybrids, and ESVs. The standard-length and ESV wagons seat up to eight passengers. All Wagons offer either rear-wheel or all-wheel drive. All EXT models are AWD. Non-Hybrids come with a 403-horespower 6.2-liter V8 engine paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission which can run on either gasoline or E85 ethanol-blended fuel. It also comes with GM's Active Fuel Management cylinder deactivation. The maximum capacity for towing is 8,300 pounds.

Available safety features for all Escalades include traction control, antiskid, ABS, front-side airbags, and curtain-side airbags. GM's Magnetic Ride Control adaptive suspension comes standard on all models except the Base. Other features include leather upholstery, heated and cooled front seats, a power tilt column, power-adjustable pedals, and navigation system which comes standard on all Escalades. Heated steering wheel and 22-inch wheels are available for Luxury versions. Blind-spot alert and power-folding 2nd-row seat come standard on Luxury versions of the standard-wheelbase and ESV wagons. Power-retractable running boards and single-screen DVD entertainment are available in Premium models. Upgraded leather upholstery, heated and cooled cupholders, specific trim, and dial-screen DVD entertainment is available in the Platinum models.

Winner further acknowledges that he will be provided a Federal Form 1099 at year end indicating the full value of the prize awarded.
