Despite the fact that the bright yellow Dodge Venom with contrasting flat-black hood attracted plenty of attention on the auto-show circuit, it never made it to production. Venom's promotional slogan was, "Yesterday's power, today's sophistication." Built on a modified Neon platform, the rear-drive Venom featured "cab-forward" styling and a 245 horsepower version of the Chrysler LH 3.5-liter V-6 with a 6-speed manual gearbox. Venom was just one of many innovative show cars exhibit by Chrysler Corporation in the 1990s. There was talk at the auto show that Venom would be a great base for a new Dodge Challenger pony car.
