First staged in 1901, the Chicago Auto Show is the largest auto show in North America and has been held more times than any other auto exposition on the continent. This year marks the 117th edition of the Chicago Auto Show.

    Not ready for sale until the 1991 model year, as an early entrant, Acura's new mid-engined NS-X sports car put in an appearance at the 1990 Chicago Auto Show. Wearing an aluminum body, the NS-X carried a new 3.0-liter V-6 engine with Honda's variable valve timing system. Portions of tamer Acura models can be seen at right.
