Chicago Mayor Richard J. Daley (second from left next to car) admired the one-of-a-kind Corvette Super Sport while attending the 1957 Chicago Auto Show. Built strictly for exhibition and not competition the Corvette Super Sport featured twin cockpits, hood and rear deck striping, scoops in the rear of the cove area and thin line whitewall tires. The Super Sport bears a family resemblance to the better-known Corvette Sebring SS or SR-2 racing prototypes.
