Colin Wickstrom Elected CATA Chairman

Colin Wickstrom, of Wickstrom Auto Group in Barrington, was recently elected to become the 2014-2015 Chicago Automobile Trade Association (CATA) chairman and the 2015 Chicago Auto Show co-chairman. Wickstrom will lead a board of 15 dealers and succeeds John Webb, who is serving as chairman of the 2015 Chicago Auto Show.

A member of the Chicago-area Ford Dealers Advertising Fund, board member on Ford Direct and member of the Ford Credit National Council, Wickstrom brings more than 20 years of automotive experience to the CATA board. In addition, Wickstrom is extremely active in local charitable organizations including the Willow Creek Community Church, CARS Ministry, Good Shepherd Hospital, Hospice of North Eastern Illinois, Royal Family Kids Camp, Home of the Sparrow, Saint Anne’s Church and Project Hope.

“Franchised new-car dealers provide the best, most efficient and most cost-effective way to sell and distribute new cars in America,” said Wickstrom. “The CATA, one of the oldest and largest metropolitan dealer associations in the nation, brings our dealerships together to with a collective voice and provides resources to help us run our businesses more effectively. I am honored to lead the organization as its chairman.”

Additional board officer announcements include: Mike McGrath Jr., McGrath Lexus, McGrath Acura, McGrath Honda and McGrath Hyundai, association vice chairman; John Hennessy, River View Ford, association treasurer; and Ray Scarpelli Jr., Raymond Chevrolet, Raymond Kia, Ray Chevrolet, association secretary. David Sloan remains the association president and Chicago Auto Show general manager.
