2013 Chicago Auto Show Hosts First-Ever Family Day: February 18
For the first time, the Chicago Auto Show is set to host Family Day on Monday, February 18 (Presidents Day). While show organizers work with manufacturers and exhibitors to coordinate family-friendly events throughout the run of the 10-day public show, Presidents Day will feature a robust lineup up of family fun.
The Chicago Auto Show has teamed up with local family resource guide, Oaklee's Family Guide, to host back-to-back events throughout the last day of the public show.
"From years past, we know that Presidents Day at the Chicago Auto Show draws a crowd," said Dave Sloan, Chicago Auto Show general manager. "We're constantly looking to provide our manufacturers and exhibitors with the best value and, with the addition of Family Day, we hope to provide even more opportunities to reach new buyers. Plus, Presidents Day is the perfect time to host Family Day as most children have the day off of school."
Events include:
10:00 a.m. - Obtain a wristband to meet Disney star Leo Howard from the hit show 'Kickin' It'
11:00 a.m. - Language Stars main stage performance
11 a.m. - 4 p.m. -Dora the Explorer's Diego appearance
12:00 p.m. - Radio Disney Road Crew
12:00 - 2 p.m. - Daniel Hampton meet and greet, retired Chicago Bears Hall of Fame player
1:00 p.m. - Meet and greet with Disney star Leo Howard
3:15 p.m. - Listen and dance to local band Precision Band
4:00 p.m. - Meet the new reigning Miss Illinois Teen USA Grayson Hodgkiss
5:00 p.m. - Lucky Duck story time
6:00 p.m. - Rockabilly sensations The Old Town Underdogs
Additional evens throughout the day include:
- Mini-classes from Language Stars
- Interactive theater experiences with Compass Creative Dramatics
- Ball toss with Wood Family Foundation
- Picture opportunity with Navy Pier
- Putting time with The Putting Edge
"Oaklee's Family Guide is thrilled to be a part of the Chicago Auto Show! We have put together a fantastic line of fun for the day and we can't wait to share the fun with our families and fans," said Nancy Stevens, the founder and owner of Oaklee's Family Guide.
Tickets are just $6 for children ages 7-12, and there is free admission for children ages six and younger when they accompany a paying adult.
