Chicago Auto Show Concludes with Family Day: Feb. 17
The Chicago Auto Show is set to host its second annual Family Day on Presidents Day, Monday, February 17. While show organizers work with manufacturers and exhibitors to coordinate family-friendly events throughout the run of the 10-day public show, Presidents Day will feature a particularly robust lineup up of family fun.
The Chicago Auto Show has teamed up with Radio Disney to host a number of family-friendly events throughout the last day of the public show including Radio Disney Road Crew performances where kids can enjoy high-energy music and entertainment. Kids can also get their creative juices flowing at the Stranger Danger coloring display and parents can benefit from child safety seat presentations by the Illinois Department of Transportation. The Secretary of State Police will also be onsite offering free digital finger printing.
“We anticipate Family Day being a big draw in its second year, particularly due to the fact that many children have the day off of school,” said Chicago Auto Show General Manager Dave Sloan. “Not only is it the last chance to see the 2014 Chicago Auto Show, the show will feature fun-filled activities that appeal to every generation.”
Besides the hundreds of different vehicles that are on display across the million sq. ft. showfloor, there are a number of family-friendly activities for both parents and kids alike. Additional fun, family attractions include three indoor test-tracks, Ford’s interactive Hank the Robot and a number of test drive games on both PlayStation 3 and Xbox One, such as Hyundai’s Forza game. Ford also has car model building for children 11 and younger along with a Mustang-themed pinball game, challenging attendees of all ages to beat the high score of champion pinball player Zach Sharpe.
Tickets are just $6 for children ages 7-12, and there is free admission for children ages six and younger when they accompany a paying adult.
