The obvious solution would be to buy a more-efficient vehicle. A new Prius will set you back about $25K and a Honda Insight lists for about $20K. If spending more than $20,000 is a little out of your budget, there are some other things you can do like checking your tire pressure or getting a tune up. Those gains are small potatoes compared to what you can do when you "hypermile."
