2013 Chicago Auto Show Blog

I'll be the first to admit I'm not the most avid truck driver, but after seeing the presentation from Ram, I've learned a few things. One, I never want to play chicken with a Ram. Two, splashed across a 100 or so foot screen, those things are absolutely terrifying. And three, they get more terrifying as they start driving towards you. Fear aside, the Ram trucks debuted at the Chicago Auto Show were impressive, to say the least.

The first clue to an exciting event came in the form of a woman passing out earplugs to the crowd. As the lights dimmed, the Chevy press conference began with the eruption of a volcano on screen and fast forwarded through the history of the legendary Camaro. As my dream car flashed on the screen, anticipation filled the crowd who all sat wondering just what was up Chevy's sleeve.

As a diehard Hyundai driver, I'm surprised to say that today I was able to picture myself behind the wheel of a Dodge. From the beat pumping through the speakers, to President and CEO Ralph Gilles' relaxed attitude, it seemed the Dodge showing was all about modernization and youthfulness. Slogans and 'subliminal messages,' as Gilles called them, flashed on the screen saying 'Never Neutral,' or my favorite, 'We hope stick shifts never die'- me neither.
