Kia shakes up the Auto Show with a little Barbecue and Blues

Love the Chicago Blues?  Kia Motors America helped auto enthusiasts get in true Chicago spirit by opening their press conference with the Club Kia blues band.  As the band performed, onlookers watched in awe as they anxiously waited the unveiling of the vehicles draped in white cloth at the front of the stage.  Once the band concluded, Vice President of Sales for Kia Motors of North America, Tom Loveless, ensured that Kia's goal for their customers to "save more, worry less" would still be the driving force during the tough economic times.  Kia's overall theme is represented in the Drive Defects to Zero concept addressing perceived quality through design and engineering.  This concept has been part of the company's internal mission and has now been shared with the public.

Frenzy, Fun and Fords at the Auto Show

Today, each intern was assigned to cover an event and write a press release and summary that will be posted on the Chicago Auto Show website. It was important for us to capture intriguing photos and get quotes from the event’s speakers in order to summarize the conference for the media. I had the pleasure of attending the Ford media conference and view the release of the 2010 Harley Davidson F-150 truck. Attendees of the conference could also hop into a mechanical contraption designed to simulate what it would be like to actually drive through rugged terrain in the monstrous truck. Melody Legge and I were assigned to work together to cover this event. We had the opportunity to talk to Ford executives about how their new car releases will help the economy by increasing sales within the car industry.

At first glance: A look into the Chicago Auto Show

A buzz surrounds the 101st Chicago Auto Show as manufacturers continue to develop interactive sets to entice the public and dazzle the media. Thrilling images of cars and trucks can be seen from across the North Hall of McCormick Place. Car dealers are working hard to build sets that show-off their new models while gaining much needed attention for the manufacturer.
