Auto Show Attendance Up 15% in First Weekend

Monday, February 14, 2011

Attendance for the first weekend of the Chicago Auto Show tracked ahead of last year's pace by 15 percent, according to show management.

"Certainly the warmer weather worked in our favor," said General Manager Dave Sloan, "but I think there's more at play here than just Mother Nature. This show is simply spectacular and the buzz around town is that it's on everyone's 'must do' list for the week."

The show's black-tie fundraising event, 'First Look for Charity,' raised nearly $2 million for 18 charities on Feb. 10, then opened to an eager public whose interest level stayed high throughout the weekend.

"The discounted evening parking program seems to have had a positive effect, as well," continued Sloan. "All of the McCormick Place lots are available for $10 after 6 p.m."

The Chicago Auto Show continues daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. through Feb. 20 when it closes at 8 p.m. Tickets are available at the door or online. For full information please visit www.ChicagoAutoShow.com.
