The ST comes standard with a turbocharged, 2.7-liter V6 EcoBoost engine. With 335 horsepower on tap and a 0-60 MPH time of just 6 seconds, Ford claims this is the most powerful V6 engine in its segment. Ford improved the Edge's suspension and brakes to handle the increased power of the turbocharged V6 engine. The ST-tuned sport suspension was designed for better body control, tight corners and steering control. The 2019 Edge braking system is enhanced by 4-wheel disc brakes with Anti-Lock Brake System.

The all-wheel-drive disconnect seamlessly switches between front-wheel and all-wheel drive. Switching to Sport mode increases engine and transmission performance to maximize vehicle acceleration. This mode utilizes a shift-scheduling innovation that adjusts due to road conditions and driving style.
