CHICAGO AUTO SHOW HOSTS ANNUAL WOMEN'S DAY ON FEB. 16 WITH SPECIAL EVENTS GEARED TOWARDS FEMALES Women Receive Discounted Ticket at $7

While there are many activities that appeal to women during the run of the nine-day Chicago Auto Show, organizers host Women's Day annually to further reach the female demographic. Auto manufacturers know that females are an important demographic to which to market, as 80 percent of women influence the purchase decision when it comes to shopping for a new car.
 
Held this year on Tuesday, Feb. 16, Women's Day at the Chicago Auto Show will feature a robust lineup of events and activities geared toward the female car buyers. 
 
The Chicago Auto Show and its Women's Day sponsor, the Chicago Tribune, are hosting a full schedule of events in coordination with the Chicagonista LIVE! podcast. The program, Women Driving Excellence, is aimed at celebrating women who start, accelerate, fuel and steer others to excel. 10:00 a.m. Jumpstart Your Reach:  A power hour hosted by Chicago's top Networkers
 
11:00 a.m. Honoring Trailblazing Women Presentation:  Emceed by Janet Davies, ABC7 News. This year's honorees include Lisa Madigan, Illinois Attorney General; Marilynn Gardner, Navy Pier President & CEO; Dominique Jordan Turner, Chicago Scholars President & CEO; Kathleen Henson, Henson Consulting Founder & CEO; and Dee Alexander, Song Stylist
 
1:00 p.m. Leading Women in Tech:  Top Chicago tech leaders share their thoughts on trends, collaborating, startups and how to foster relationships for business growth.
 
2:00 p.m. The #ChicagonistaLIVE! Show: Chicago's first and only "Social Talk Show" will go live from the Chicago Auto Show  with their usual Chicago hot topics, special guests, prizes and more.
 
3:00 p.m. Growth Prosperity Success (GPS) Pitch Engine Contest: Aspiring entrepreneurs will make presentations to a panel of experts who are in search for rising businesses.
 
In addition to the nearly 1,000 different vehicles that are on display throughout the more than 1 million sq. ft. of show floor space, women can experience the interactive exhibits, including several that let you simulate an actual race course, as well as the always popular Jeep, Dodge and Toyota test tracks, all with full-sized vehicles.
 
"Women's day is the perfect day for manufacturers to showcase their vehicles to appeal towards the female demographic," said Colin Wickstrom, 2016 Chicago Auto Show chairman. "This special day allows women to get up-close and personal with the wide array of vehicles on display at the nation's largest auto show."
